Teens are driven by friends and parents who are distracted and often are reluctant to speak up and insist that their driver drive them safely.
Using a model adapted by the Bacchius Network from alcohol and drug programs, teens are taught the skills to effectively intervene when they experience distracted driving. Teens are taught that as passengers they share the responsibility with the driver for arriving safely and to collaboratively offer solutions for safer driving. EndDD.org thanks Colts Neck High School Principal Daniel Simon for playing the role of a distracted dad and senior Suzie for playing his daughter. The video of their role play that follows is entertaining for the students but highlights excuses driven by distracted drivers and opens up communication about safe driving solutions.
Joel Feldman
Joel Feldman is the father of the late Casey Feldman and founder of the Casey Feldman Foundation and its sponsored project, EndDD.org. He has been a practicing attorney for 34 years and a shareholder in the law firm of Anapol Weiss in Philadelphia. He received a masters in counseling in 2013 and speaks throughout the U.S. and Canada to teens and adults, changing attitudes and behaviors through the science based, End Distracted Driving program.
