Chandler Small died the morning of December 19, 2012, as a result of texting and speeding while driving. Chandler was operating her Ford F-250 when she failed to negotiate a turn. Her vehicle left the roadway, hit a culvert, flipped and landed on its roof. Chandler, who was wearing her seatbelt, was sending and receiving text messages on her way home from a Christmas party.
Chandler was a passionate and gifted woman who loved art, fashion, horses, and music. She deeply valued family, friends and her Christian faith and had a huge heart and a warm smile.
She graduated with honors from Montgomery High School, Texas, in 2011 and was a member of the National Honor Society. At the time of her death, Chandler was a sophomore general studies major at Texas A&M University.
Chandler is survived by her parents, Steve and Renee Small, brother Dustin Sikes, twin brother Preston Small, and other relatives and friends.
Chandler is honored through an annual fashion show sponsored by Southern Jewlz Boutique in College Station,TX where she worked at the time of her death. The fashion show raises funds in Chandler’s memory for local charities. View the video news clip here:
