Loretta Margaret Riatusso was killed on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 in Gulf Breeze Florida, at the age of 56. Her vehicle was struck at an intersection by a by a distracted young driver, age 18, who ran a red light.
Born on May 3, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York, Loretta was a long time resident of Gulf Breeze, Florida.
Loretta’s friends and family remember her as a kind and giving woman. One longtime friend said, “As a teenager, I admired her perfectly arched eyebrows and asked her to teach me how to shape mine. She showed me how to find the arch and where to pluck. I remember how easily she smiled. I remember her saying that she had enough love for everyone in her life that needed it.”
One of her coworkers described her as always having a kind word and a smile, while other friends described her as “friendly and full of life. She was beautiful both in appearance and in spirit. She was one of those people you never forget.”
Loretta was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa, parents and goddaughter, and was survived by her husband of 29 years, Joseph Riatusso, daughters Anne and Catherine, son Joseph and granddaughter, Josephine.
