Just What We Needed to Hear on the 8th Anniversary of Casey’s Death
July 17th marked 8 years since our daughter Casey was killed by a distracted driver. Needless to say, we miss her every day and the anniversary can be particularly painful. I received the following email on the 17th from a former student at Medford High School in Massachusetts. It was just what we needed:
I previously attended one of your end distracted driving presentations at Medford high school a few years ago. I know that today is the 8th anniversary of Casey’s death; my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family today. I can’t imagine the terrible pain you are in over the death of your daughter; please know that my younger brother (who has his license) and I are committed to being safe drivers and we will serve as role models when driving by not using our phones or pulling over to take a call; we will even leave the wristbands in our cars as reminders. We both promise to be safe and responsible.
