It was great to spend the day at West High School in Salt Lake City speaking with students in their health class, thanks to Jenne Hamlin, the health teacher who coordinated the talks. The students were great — really attentive and interactive. All told, there were 4 different presentations. The students were not distracted by their phones as Ms. Hamlin’s practice is to collect all the phones before class and store them away from the students until class is over.
I was joined by local attorneys Mitch Jensen and Steve Jensen from the law firm of Siegfried and Jensen. Siegfried and Jensen is known for not only being great lawyers, but also working on numerous community service projects. Mitch Jensen helped out and played the role of a distracted, texting parent and Sean, a senior, played his son. We used the role play to work with students and teach them how to speak up effectively when driven distracted by others.
Next week Mitch Jensen will be doing more presentations at West High School. We are thankful at EndDD.org to have Siegfried and Jensen as one of our partners!!
