Two Different High Schools More Than 100 Miles Apart, But the Same Commitment to Drive Safer
I had a great day last week working with Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving. I started in center-city Philadelphia at West Catholic Preparatory High School and finished at Pleasant Valley High School in Brodheadsville, PA near the Pocono Mountains. Both schools SADD leaders and members were so committed to bringing the safe driving message to their peers. The students at both schools were so attentive and seemed to pay particular attention to Xavier Davis-Bilbo’s story, with audible gasps at both schools upon learning how he was paralyzed because of a texting woman. During the role play students from both schools contributed their suggestions for speaking up when driven distracted by others and committed to being safe drivers.
Two very different schools, more than 100 miles apart but, the same message and same commitment to drive safer and help those they care about drive safer.

Joel Feldman is the father of the late Casey Feldman and founder of the Casey Feldman Foundation and its sponsored project, EndDD.org. He has been a practicing attorney for 34 years and a shareholder in the law firm of Anapol Weiss in Philadelphia.
